Lethe privacy policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Scope and operator
This policy covers Lethe's main website and authenticated account features. Lethe is operated by Rudra Satani. The public scan tool and assisted-removal email waitlist have a separate scan and waitlist privacy policy.
Anonymous scans
The free scan processes a name and city to check public broker surfaces. Raw inputs and scan results have no durable storage. A short-lived in-memory cache holds redacted results for up to five minutes, keyed by a salted digest of the input. Hashed-IP rate limiting also lasts up to five minutes. Raw broker response bodies are not retained.
This anonymous flow is different from running a scan in your signed-in dashboard.
Accounts and profiles
Clerk handles sign-in and sessions. Lethe retains your account email and authentication identifier, preferences, and account timestamps. Your email is an account identifier and is not part of the encrypted profile document.
Profile details collected by the current form include name, country, and city. Your browser sends them over HTTPS to Lethe; the API validates and encrypts them before persistence. Encryption happens on the server, not in your browser. Authorized server operations can decrypt profile details, including for your data export, with an access audit.
Signed-in scan history
Dashboard scans retain broker identifiers, timestamps, found / not found / unavailable statuses, and exposed-category flags such as address or phone. These flags are not the address or phone number itself. The history does not retain raw broker records, raw scan inputs, listing text, or preview URLs. The profile document is encrypted; scan-history status and category flags are stored as account-linked metadata.
Service providers and logs
Authentication, hosting, database, and configured email services process the information needed to provide their functions. Account data is used for your profile, history, settings, security, and requested support. Lethe does not sell your personal data. Application logs redact personal values; security and access audits retain event metadata rather than profile contents.
Manual guides link to third-party broker sites. Following a link takes you to that broker, where its privacy policy applies. Lethe does not send your profile details through guide links or submit opt-outs for you.
Exports, retention, and deletion
Signed-in accounts can request an export through account settings. Retention preferences record your chosen period; automatic deletion based on those preferences is not currently enforced. Account deletion records a request and marks your Lethe account for deletion. It does not immediately erase stored data, and a complete automatic purge is not currently available.
Contact support to request erasure and confirm its completion. We do not promise that changing a preference or requesting deletion automatically purges all data after a fixed deadline.
